Victory!!!!! Victory again!!!!!!

I was accepted today by Colorado. Evidently, the deal for their monetary package is weird and my dad didn't really explain it that well. Evidently, I got a TAing job but I can RA if I want to (KNEEL BEFORE ME AND DESPAIR YOU WORTHLESS CRETINS!!!!) just being able to say that would be a good reason to TA but I could always help the poor people in Boulder and not TA and instead subjugate a lab (YAY!!!!!!!! KNEEL BEFORE ME AND DESPAIR....okay u get the drill).

Harvard, Stanford and Maryland remain MIA. We will see.

Constitutional Amendment against gay marriage? WTF?

I also now need an anthem according to Joe, any ideas, anyone?

WE ARE VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, that's right. "Hail the conquering heroes..."

I will now join James (McCullough not Lin) as being accepted to the Physics department at the University of Washington. Tragically, their pay plan is severely lacking. They offer $1285 a month for 9 months and a bonus of $1500 so it comes out to $13065 for 9 months. Now assume I get the 4% raise they predict. So it now comes out to $13527.60 for 9 months. Now assume I get a summer research job, which usually pays more, for 2 months. According to their chart, assuming I'm reading it correctly, I get $1378 +4% raise. This comes out to $2866.24 for 2 months. This is $16393.84 for 11 months. I get more from Illinois. But we'll see. I would like to see the facilities and meet with some people before I decide. As a result of this, I now have bought plane tickets for the trip from h*ll. Here's a quickie of the plan:
Thurs March 4th- Syracuse to Seattle
Fri 5th and Sat 6th- In Seattle at the University of Washington
Early Sun March 7th- Seattle to LAX to go home
Rest of Sun, Mon 8th, Tues 9th, Wed 10th- At home, playing at LEAST one round of golf probably 2.
Thurs March 11th- LAX to Champaign, Ill.
Fri 12th, Sat 13th- At the University of Illinois
Early Sun 14th- Fly Champaign, Ill to Syracuse.
Rest of day- sleeping and attempting to overcome jet lag

Yeah, I dislike flying. This I WILL HATE and HATE WITH A PASSION.

hehehe.

BTW...

TONIGHT was Round 4 of The Vidali Lab Guillotine Championship!!!!!

Now for my CA friends who don't understand this: I work in a lab (okay you got that) under the supervision of Professor Vidali (hence Vidali Lab). Guillotine is a card game in which you try to "kill" french nobles in the execution line. They're worth different points based on their value to the people from King Louis XVI (5 points) to the Hero of the People (-3 points). I own this game so trust me... I'll force you guys to play this.

Anyway, every week, usually on Fri, we play a "round" or 3 games. 3 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd and ties split the points.

Tonight's point total was:
Scott - 9 points
Joe- 6 points
Em- 3 points

Which makes the running total to be:
Scott- 31.5 points
Joe- 23.5 points
Em- 16 points

Anyway, I'm hitting the sack..

Latest grad school info

So, here we are on Feb 11th and I have this info:

I have been accepted to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a teaching assistantship that pays $17,000 for eleven months about. It will go up.

I have been accepted to the University of Michigan. TA(Teaching Assistantship) with part time fellowship. I work only 10 hours a week, compared to 20 or more at Illinois and I get about $16,965 for 10 months (exactly).

Syracuse is by far the most funny. After getting told personally by the head secretary that I got a TA job (15,600 for 9 months). I then got an email from her telling me I got the University Fellowship. She sent me this email:

Dear Scott,
I have just been informed that you have been awarded a University Fellowship. The fellowship includes a stipend of $18,000 for the 9-month academic year and 30 tuition credits for 2004-2005. You will get more information from the GEMC in the near future.
This is, for us wonderful news. Congratulations!

Notice the "for us". Its like they're taking credit for my work! I know why they put it in there. Cause now the university will pay my way, not the department.

James (McCullough not Lin) has heard back from Washington (congrats to him for getting into Washington as well as Arizona and Oregon) so I expect I will heard back from Washington tomorrow. Harvard and Stanford have taken too long, ie. rejected!

Colorado is the true wildcard. Their PHD doesn't require a qualifying exam (BIG FRICKING EXAM THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PEE IN YOUR PANTS) so we'll see what happens.

Maryland doesn't really matter anymore, but we'll see what happens.

Update on the standings

Tonight, in Round 3 of the Vidali Lab Guillotine Championship:

Joe and Emily put the hurt down on Scott in game 1. Scott attempted to valiantly fight back but a Tragic Figure screwed him over. Combine that with bad math on his part, he was only able to gain third place while Joe pulled out the win.
In game 2, Scott pulled out an early lead but a switchero between him and Joe put him 6 points behind. He managed to fight back and win the game. Em came in dead last.
In game 3, it was close going into day 3 but Scott pulled it out.

Tonight's point total:
Scott- 7 points
Joe- 7 points
Em- 4 points

Running total (after three rounds):
Scott- 23.5 points
Joe- 17.5 points
Em- 13 points

Separation is starting to show between all three of the places. Only time will tell. Only three rounds have been played (9 games), more will come.

Pot here

I don't even know why I'm responding, but I'm in a good mood due to a good SB XXXVIII.

Anyway, Em...

First off, you're comparing me taking your thing seriously to me telling you that you're taking the Scarlet Pimpernel too seriously. Well there is a difference. Its called "Honor". I know that this idea is foreign to you and you probably need a definition from a dictionary to understand it, but you need to figure it out on your own. If I told you seriously that you had cheated and you had not, I would expect you to feel the exact same way: that I had insulted you seriously at something that really was not worth it. This is a problem with today's society. Good, upstanding values are no longer valued. Life has degenerated into backstabbing one another to get ahead and it is something that I try to avoid when I can help it. This is why the last time I played an actual character in a D&D game, I was a paladin. Joe took a guess, you called me a liar and a cheat. Also, I was assuming that you knew me, that you would know that I would never cheat at something like that. Even when I play against you, I assume that you will not cheat. You played "Let Them Eat Cake" in one game. I assumed that you had gotten the card through legitimate means. Its like comparing a VW Bug with a Porsche, big difference :D.

I do try to tell things like that are, objectively. Now, I know that I am human and am unable to be completely do this, but I do try. Also, what pissed me off more about the thing was not only that you had impugned my honor, but that you had done the EXACT SAME THING TO ME THE PREVIOUS GAME. And I didn't even blink. It was with me "eh that sux.", you: "HE CHEATED!".

And as for the whole dbl crossing thing. He didn't doublecross me, he didn't hold up his end of the deal that we had at the time and when I called him on it, he skirted away from it, but he didn't attack me (that would be double crossing). And yes, I still remember that. Do you honestly think that I trust either one of you farther than I can throw you? ROFL if you did. I only trust three people in my life, and you guys ain't that special :P.

(Joe right now, cue to start laughing).

And ummm the whole thing about you being put on my links section, was cause I was getting asked what was going on in my blog so I posted the link.

And you watched Stargate SG-1 RERUN with a 0-0 game going on?

What the blip were you thinking? What were you smoking?

Let me think about this:
SB 0-0 game vs. The West Wing Rerun? SB
vs Nash Bridges rerun? SB

I would've taped a new West Wing episode but I still would've watched the SB.

Dude, only one thing in the world could've stopped me from watching the SB...
